Scientists have predicted that over 1 million species of plants and animals are going to be extinct in just a few decades. We face an extinction crisis never experienced before. Every year, almost 14 million pounds of waste is dumped into the oceans - that's like dumping 1,200,000 elephants made of waste in the ocean. Scientists predict that by 2050, the oceans would have more plastic than fish. Every year, almost 7 billion trees are cut down. The greed of humans has lead to the outright demise and destruction of the plants and animals we share this planet with. We have not only destroyed this planet for us but also our future generations. However, we still have time. We can still turn things around. We at Voítheia want to change things for the better. We want to protect and preserve our divine and beautiful wildlife. We want to save every animal and plant endangered from extinction. Protecting our wildlife isn't our desire but it is our duty.
